A dark oil is applied to the exterior to create a deeper, richer tone, and to enliven the difference in wood colours of the grain. The lid of this wooden urn unscrews quickly to insert the ashes, and replaces to a secure, tight fit to keep them safe. However, if you wish to seal the urn for security you can put some wood glue onto the threads on the lid as you replace it.

Aside from being lovely, this Beech wood urn is also biodegradable. So, if you choose to bury it with the ashes of your loved one you can be sure that they will be returning to the earth in a natural, ecological way.

Please note that this wooden urn does not come with a presentation box or bag. We also recommend keeping the ashes inside a sealed plastic bag within the urn if you intend to keep the urn at home.
